Our mission
We help people make confident money decisions with information that is clear, accurate and practical. Every page should leave you understanding your options and the trade-offs between them.
Who creates our content
Our guides and business idea articles are published by OpenBookMoney Editors, the site’s editorial team. Every article is reviewed before it’s published, and we stay responsible for everything on the site.
How we research
- We rely on primary and official sources, such as government agencies, regulators and central banks (for example the IRS, SEC, FINRA, CFPB, the Federal Reserve and the European Central Bank).
- We check numbers, limits and rules for the year they apply to, and we say when they vary by country or state.
- We never invent statistics, studies, quotes or success stories. Examples are round, hypothetical numbers and are labeled that way.
How we write
- We write in plain English and explain any term we use.
- We explain options and their trade-offs instead of telling you what to buy.
- We don’t promise returns, and we point out risks and costs as clearly as benefits.
Use of AI and other tools
We may use software tools, including AI writing assistants, to help research, outline and draft content. Every article is reviewed and edited by our editors before it’s published, and facts and figures are checked as described above.
Updates and corrections
Rules, limits and rates change, so we review our guides regularly and update them when something changes. Each article shows the date of its latest update. If you spot an error, email us at info@openbookmoney.com. We review every report and correct mistakes promptly.
Independence
No company can pay to influence what we write. If we ever publish sponsored content or use affiliate links, we will label them clearly, and they won’t change our explanations or comparisons.
How our calculators work
Our calculators use standard formulas and the assumptions shown on each calculator. Results are estimates for planning, not offers or guarantees. They run in your browser, and the numbers you enter aren’t sent to us.
Not financial advice
Our content is general education. It isn’t personalized financial, investment, tax or legal advice. For decisions about your own situation, consider speaking with a qualified professional.
