The short version
- You can read every page and use every calculator without creating an account.
- The numbers you type into our calculators stay in your browser. They are not sent to us.
- We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. If you visit from Europe (including the UK, Switzerland and Turkey), we only turn it on after you accept analytics cookies. Everyone else can turn it off at any time under Cookie settings.
- We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t use it for advertising.

Analytics (Google Analytics)
When analytics is on, Google Analytics 4 collects information such as the pages you visit, how long you stay, the website that referred you, your browser and device type and your approximate location (city or country) derived from your IP address. Google Analytics 4 doesn’t log or store IP addresses. It uses cookies (named _ga and _ga_…) to tell visits apart.
We use this information only in aggregate, to see which pages are useful and to improve the site. Google processes it on our behalf and keeps it for the retention period set in our account, no longer than 14 months. Learn more in Google’s Privacy Policy.
We decide whether to ask for consent first from your device’s time zone setting, without looking up your location. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we keep analytics off unless you turn it on yourself.
Storage on your device
Besides analytics cookies, the site stores a few small values in your browser. They never leave your device:
- lw-theme: your light or dark theme choice.
- lw-consent: your analytics cookie choice.
- lw-tick: when your browser last checked for newly scheduled articles. This check is a tiny request to our server that contains no personal information beyond what every web request includes.
Third-party services
- TradingView. The market price strip on our home page is provided by TradingView. It loads from TradingView’s servers only when you scroll to it. TradingView may receive your IP address and set its own cookies; see the TradingView Privacy Policy.
- Exchange rates. Our currency converter gets current reference rates, published by the European Central Bank, from the Frankfurter service (api.frankfurter.dev). The request contains only the currencies, not the amounts you enter. Like any web request, it reveals your IP address to that service.
- Hosting. Our hosting provider, Hostinger, processes technical data such as IP addresses, browser types and the pages requested in its server logs, to deliver the site and protect it against abuse. Its security systems may briefly check your browser before showing a page.
- Fonts are served from our own server, so reading our pages doesn’t send requests to font services.
Emails
If you email us, we use your email address and message only to reply to you, and keep them only as long as needed for that.
Your choices
- Change your analytics choice at any time under Cookie settings.
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
- Install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, for example under the EU and UK GDPR, Turkey’s personal data protection law (KVKK) or US state privacy laws, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information, to restrict or object to its use and to withdraw your consent at any time. Because we don’t run user accounts, most information about your visit exists only as aggregate analytics. To make a request, email info@openbookmoney.com. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Legal bases (EU and UK)
We use analytics on the basis of your consent, keep server logs and security checks on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a safe website, and handle emails to answer your request.
International transfers
Google and our hosting provider may process information outside your country. They use safeguards required by law, such as standard contractual clauses.
Children
Our site is meant for adults and isn’t directed to children under 16. We don’t knowingly collect information from children.
